GENERAL

How far in advance do i need to book my Senior session?

It's never too early! May, June and July are great months to get your Senior Session done before your Senior year starts. It may still be possible to book in August, September or October, but those months are the most popular and may already be booked.

Too busy in the Summer or Fall, or a little late in getting your Senior Session done? Don't worry, Winter and even Spring are great times to photograph. It doesn't have to be a Summer or Fall-only session.

HOW DO I BOOK MY SESSION?

Contact me below. Then I'll call or email you and we can chat about what you're looking for. Why talk by phone? A 10 minute call is so much faster than sending 20 emails back and forth over several weeks, and I don't want you to lose out on your preferred session date that was just booked by someone else while we were exchanging emails.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?

Please reschedule if you aren't feeling well or if something unavoidable has come up. However, another session might not be open for several weeks afterward depending on calendar availability, so please make the initially booked session a priority. Please don't worry about a bad skin day; acne can be retouched.

Why is my session retainer non-refundable?

The session retainer reserves my time on the calendar, which is time and revenue lost in the event of a no-show or cancellation. However, your retainer can be applied to rescheduled date if necessary under certain restrictions.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, I accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as cash and personal checks. Unfortunately, I do not accept payment through app-based programs such as Paypal, Venmo, Apple Pay/Wallet, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, etc).

Do you ever have mini-sessions?

I do not offer mini-sessions except to already established clients.

Why are your prices higher/lower than other photographers in the area?

Photographers all have different levels of talent, technical skill, equipment knowledge and offer varying levels of quality. My prices reflect many years of creative experience and camera proficiency. You can rest assured that I did not pick up a camera just a few years ago, or try to learn how to use it when shooting clients.
In return for your investment, you'll receive an experience to remember that's all about YOU, and personally-crafted works of art that will stand the test of time.

BEFORE SESSION

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Do you offer hair and makeup services?

I do not currently offer hair and makeup services at this time.

Where will my session be held?

We'll meet for a planning consultation, and together we'll find the perfect location for your session. I have many ideas depending on what you're looking for.

What time should we schedule my session?

Sessions are held Monday-Thursday evenings. Weekend sessions can be held for an extra cost.
The exact time will be determined based on availability as well as the light where we will be shooting. While natural light is lovely, I am not bound only by natural light. A lot of natural light photographers only shoot at the hour before sunset. I am proficient with lighting equipment and I am able to to shoot at any tie of day, even in bright sunlight if necessary, and obtain natural results.

What should I wear?

I have a lot of tips for you! We will cover clothing options and fashion at our initial planning consultation and customize your session. Plan on 2-3 outfits.

What about the weather?

Believe it or not, a sunny day is not always the best time to shoot. Cloudy or windy days are definitely doable and sometimes even preferred. I don't mind a little rain (on me, of course.. we'll keep you dry). If there is a storm or pouring rain or bone-chilling cold, then we will reschedule. But if we keep waiting for the perfect weather day, it'll never happen in Ohio. We'll just work with what we've got, and you'll be surprised at how beautiful your images are, no matter what the weather!

during session

DURING YOUR SESSION

I feel awkward in front of a camera. Will I look stiff in photos?

You'll naturally feel a bit stiff in the first few minutes, but as we get going, you'll feel more relaxed and natural. I keep things light and conversational, and encourage you to act naturally, and soon you might forget that there is a camera there. I find it takes about 10-15 minutes to feeling more relaxed. By the end of the session, you'll feel like a supermodel.

I don't know how to pose

Most everyone needs help with posing. I'll help you with natural posing and natural movements. After a few minutes, you'll only need minimal direction from me and you will be more confident in your actions. I will always be there to help with posing suggestions and ideas.

What should I bring to my session?

We'll discuss that more in our planning consultation, but please bring anything that has personal significance to you, whether a prop or uniform. You might want to bring a comb or brush, a hat and sunglasses. I will have water and snacks and emergency touch-up items.

Who can come with me?

Moms are definitely preferred and even necessary if you are a minor. In fact, Moms turn out to be great styling and lighting assistants. But if you feel more comfortable without Mom there, we can always discuss that too. Other than Moms, I prefer to keep it mostly a one-on-one session so that all attention is on you and you aren't distracted by other people. This is not the time for an impromptu family session.

AFTER SESSION

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Will my photos be retouched?

General retouching includes removing minor blemishes and under eye circles, brightening eyes and teeth, skin smoothing and some stray hair flyaways. Additional charges may apply for excessive acne, tan lines or hair strands across eyes.

How long will it take to receive my images?

Step 1: The initial images should be viewable in an online gallery about 2 weeks after your session.
Step 2: Once you have chosen your favorites in the online gallery, I will retouch any images you've chosen. This will take another 1-2 weeks depending on the amount of retouching needed.
Step 3: If you've ordered an heirloom album, we will meet to create and design same according to your preferences. You will have the opportunity to view the album mock-up twice and approve or suggest any changes. Your album will arrive about one week after it has been send to my professional lab.

Do you present my images in color or black and white?

I love to showcase the world in its bright and beautiful colors, including seasonal pops of color. I will also show the occasional black and white if the image is a strong candidate for it.

What is a print release?

When you receive your digital images, you will also receive a limited print release that will give you permission to use the images for non-commercial purposes. This includes the permission to print an unlimited number of copies of the images up to 8x10 and for sharing on social media. However, copyright and artistic ownership remains with me, the creator of the images.
