Summer, please come back!  I miss you already....

Speaking of which, I also miss all of my artist and blog friends.  I've been absent from the internet for a while, as you can see.  I blame it on Summer.  But... I'm baaack!!! Hopefully you haven't all left me by now, but I totally expect that you would have moved on.

Anyway, after a wild whirlwind of summer vacations and getaway weekends, most of which involved water of some form (pools, lakes, water rides), hot, hot sunny days, and sometimes camping, lighthouses, cliffs, DJ music and Tiki bars, I think I'm going into Summer Withdrawal.  Does such a thing even exist?

So.... what a great way to bring back the memories than by painting some waves.

Want to see more waves?  Water? Lighthouses? Sunsets? Tiki Bars?  Here's a small sample of my Summer (click on a photo for a larger image/slideshow, or hover the mouse over the image to see notes about it):
Now, I must admit that Fall is my favorite season, with all of its splendor and glory.  But, but, but... I'm just not ready for it yet.  Give me a week or two to get into the proper Spirit of Autumn.  In the meantime, I'm back to reliving the Summer.

Hope all of you had a great Summer too!

Your watercolor is gorgeous! Looks like you had lots of fun adventures this summer. I'm not ready for fall either, but it's here anyway. We actually had snow flurries today :-(

Hi Krista,
I'm right there with you when it comes to changing seasons. I miss the summer already. We've had a few chilly days here in Atlanta, so it feels like autumn is in the air. Great job on the painting of the ocean, too! Keep sharing....

Thanks, Sue! Glad things are cooling off for you. In Michigan, it feels too cold and windy to enjoy the Fall weather just yet.

Welcome back! Looks like you had a marvelous summer, so I don't wonder that you're a little sad that it's done. At least you have your favorite season to look forward to. (Fall is my favorite season, too.)

Nice wave picture! And those photos make me think you'll be painting some more pictures from your busy summer which means you won't be leaving it totally behind! Fall is my favorite season too but it does mean winter is next and summer says relax, have fun, fall is coming and you can rest then. Good to see you back.

Love the transparency of your waves, and the sun showing through. Lovely.

Wonderful painting, Krista! I've never even tried to do moving water like that...it looks too hard! Wonderful photos from your summer too. Will we be seeing some paintings from them soon?

So I gather you are not a seeker of solitude.

Timaree and Raena, I have obtained a ton of photos this summer, all impatiently waiting to be painted.

Pamela, thanks for stopping by and commenting! Your work is lovely.

Ruca and wrjones, only part of the summer was crazy. The rest of it was relaxing and peaceful, whether camping, boating or just sitting on the beach listening to the waves.

wrjones: Solitude, eh? LOL. I can't LIVE without solitude. I have to decompress every day after work and this summer, while it started off at a mad-dash pace, turned into one of the most relaxing summers I've ever had. Lots of time for solitude... lots of time for painting too. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Your work is excellent.
